OUR STORY
We are Matthew and Caitlin, a husband-and-wife team whose lives are grounded in nature, family, and a deep respect for the African wild.
Matthew brings over 20 years of experience in professional hunting and wildlife management across Southern Africa. Caitlin works in biodiversity and conservation across the continent. As parents of five, our home is the bush, and our table is fed by the land we work to protect.
VENISON was born from a simple intention: to create a sustainable, honest food source for our own family, with clear provenance and accountable origin. When we couldn't find it in the market, we built it ourselves.


The industry moved one way. The land pointed the other.
We followed the land.
We fed our children this before we sold it to anyone.
